"It was a pretty normal day for me, riding in the outer rim, as always. Not many prizes though, I was pretty close from getting back home. And then I saw this ship, right there, standing still and undamaged. No signal, no radio feedback, scan's returning nothing. I could have passed, but I'm a curious one"
As a drifting scrap dealer, you come across an abandoned ship that seems suspiciously silent. What could have happened ? You decide to dock your ship
Solis is a free, short, first person experience. Grab your suit, helmet, and flashlight and come explore the spaceship
Note: if you're afraid of jumpscares, you'll be okay. Solis only aims to create a nice ambiance to experience, rather than scaring anyone

One big issue I have is that this game needs a few accessibility features for people who have vision impairments:
1. The subtitles should have a dark background behind them to help with readability / contrast
2. There should be an option for an alternate font. The default font is extremely difficult for those with dyslexia
3. There should be a setting for UI scale or at the very least a slider for font size. Again, for those who have difficulty with reading the text is very rough
The game is fun! Just really difficult to enjoy with the text issues.
I really liked this game. The re-wiring mechanic was pretty cool.
A couple of thoughts. Once I noticed it, I couldn't ignore it. It feels like there is a disconnect between the narration and what is happening while you play. There's the main character's inner/reaction dialogue, then there's the narration in the past tense. It confused me.. is this a memory or is this found footage kind of thing? It's weird to be narrating in the past tense when as the player, it's literally happening in the present. So it got me thinking about a second disconnect I was feeling. I know it's all the rage these days to make your game look all retro, but what is it really adding to the game? This game might have been just as fine without the pixelated effect. What I thought might work better is to do a found footage treatment. As if we are reviewing a recording from the main character's helmet. This might help it feel like it is something that has happened all ready, even though the player is playing it in the present with narration talking about it in the past tense. It might help better connect the two realities.
This is just my personal opinion. I really did enjoy it over all.
Brilliant little game. I've played it a few times just for the atmosphere.
With its intense atmosphere, high quality voice acting, and a satisfying ending, Solis is a great example of how horror games can work without any jump-scares.
Using the power conduits as guidelines for to help the player move forward was a stroke of genius. Kudos!
Hi Carbonado, I saw a Solis gameplay and fell in love with it. Since the game is full of texts, and a lot of the atmosphere is given by them, I would like to help you if possible to translate the game into Italian. Let me know if I can help you. Greetings. 😉
Thanks a lot for the offer, this is very kind of you. Unfortunately at the moment it wouldn't be that easy to add languages to the gam since I didn't plan localization in the first place. This is not fully out of the table but I'm already busy working on some new ideas. I'll let you know if it happens someday, and thanks again :)

Tried out 'Solis' at 17:32!!
Well that was a Great Experience, The power grid was a cool concept..
Such a good atmosphere, honestly 10/10! I wish there was more. Such a high quality game with great potential.
The game was amazing. Probably the best and highest quality game I played on Itch.io .
This game was great but left me with more questions than answers. the atmosphere was A plus and I loved but hated the final anxiety inducing part. IT left me with plenty of questions though.
Excuse me, but this game had NO right to be this good!
I absolutely loved it, I am gushing through the entire Lets Play because it’s so detailed, the voiceover blew my mind and the storytelling is spot on, just enough to get what it’s about but there’s still left enough to theorize. Also, gameplay this cool and fun? In this economy? A true gem. Also, does the ending implicate a sequel? I sure would love to follow the adventures of our lone scrap dealer :)
I absolutely loved this game. The story was great and the science fiction setting really drew me in. You don't see a ton of science fiction horror games so I always like trying them when I can. Yours did not disappoint. Keep up the good work!
Easily one of my top 5 Indie games I have played. So unique, absolutely enjoyed! Def try this one out. Download it, Play it, you wont regret it! Check the video for full game!
it fun, after a while not playing horror game, this is a good start, no jumpscare just like you mention earlier. but it still keep me on edge cause i dont trust you. hahahaha

Reminded me of alien isolation mate kept me on edge i tell you that loved it.
I rate this as one of the best games i've ever played on itch.. and I've played a lot of itch games on this channel.. 10/10 Love it..
I LOVED this game. The wiring mechanic was neat and the player character's noticeable anxiety as you went deeper really messed with me! This game was sooo good.
This was very surprising. I was expecting something generic but I was proven very wrong. While there is a slight amount of predictability, it was still very well thought out. It has great mechanics, lovely art style, and a great atmosphere. Can't wait to see more!
OMG, loved the story and the graphics! The game has a really creepy and eerie atmosphere! Great work!
Nice sci-fi game.
Damn! everything looks great and very polished.
I am seriously surprised how well the pixelated filter and lighting worked so well together. Pretty much everything worked as intended, the story and atmosphere was tightly connected and complimented each other very well, making everything very tense.
The gameplay was really great too. The electricity system was very creative, and as far as I know, original.
It is clear to see, at least in my eyes, that this game has taken great inspiration from mainly Alien Isolation and The Expanse, which I very much appreciate! I loved the game and the show!
I am honestly impressed this game is free, well done!

Hi guys, loved it. Very spooky. I think I encountered a bug which I will try to describe spoiler free. When I walked down a set of stairs and saw a dented wall, a piece of dialogue triggered that I'm pretty sure was supposed to play when I witnessed what was on the other side of that wall later. When I stepped closer to the wall some dialogue about the wall triggered as well. When I saw the scene on the other side of the wall no dialogue triggered. I don't know anything about game programming so I have no idea what caused this! Anyway thanks again, neat little game! :D
Thanks for the report ! I need to actually fix that bug as soon as I have some free time, sorry it caused you this spoiler.
Hello, I played this game and I really enjoyed it, the atmosphere was great and I liked the concept, the voice acting was definitely a nice plus! Good work :)
Great game! The visual is beautiful. Sound designs are good. Although there are no jumpscares, this game still terrifies me nonetheless. Very good job!
A very good game, although short. I loved the wire system gameplay. Congrats.
Thanks a lot for playing, and even more twice, I'm very grateful !
Loved the atmosphere this game created! Question: Is there an ending scene? Or does the game "end" after you find all the logs and piece the story together? I thought I explored the entire ship pretty well but maybe I missed something? Any insight would be helpful! :)
Hey ! Yes there's an actual ending, sorry if you didn't find it. If you wish to try again, let me know what places you went to see if I can point you toward the next step. You can drop me a quick mail at hello.carbonado@gmail.com or send me a DM at https://twitter.com/CarbonadoGames (just so I don't spoil things here ;) )
Thanks !
Fantastic game! Atmosphere, visual and sound design is impeccable. Storytelling through found documents / data types and the environment itself is incredibly immersive. There's a very cool wiring mechanic to serve power to different parts of the ship. It's a really impressive game that'll keep you hooked till the end. Very polished experience!
This game is excellent. The atmosphere is very immersive, sound effects and the voice-over are great. Actually it reminded me a lot of the side missions in the first Mass Effect game where you had to go through left behind bases on planets and found pieces of data here and there.
The game has a cool rerouting mechanic to explore the ship and piecing the story together through data fragments keeps you hooked. The environmental story telling is where this game excels once you get deeper into the ship. Very well done!
